Paul Vallas, the Superintendent of the Recovery School District and former superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools, addresses a group of "voluntourists" from the Am Shalom Synagogue in Glencoe, Illinois at the Touro Synagogue on St. Charles Street in the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana on March 10, 2008.  The group of "voluntourists" from Glencoe, Illinois is traveling to New Orleans to combine traditional tourism with volunteer work in the aftermath of the devastation wrought by Hurrica Katrina in 2005.
