Yellow gloves on a ruined bench swing in the backyard of the Szalai family home in the aftermath of a toxic industrial accident caused by a rupture in a nearby alumina reservoir in a ruined section of Devecser, Hungary on November 20, 2010. On October 4, 2010, a rupture in a reservoir containing toxic alumina sludge in nearby Ajka, Hungary sent hazardous red sludge gushing through Devecser and several surrounding towns; unlike other effected families, the Szalai family hopes to remain in their home as long as possible despite the devastation around them.
